Look at the demo here.
They need to make it easier for us all to do this, and fast. I agree, I want to be able to remix my songs by combining them, I also want to remix my songs, I want to be able to make my videos a bit better than they are now.
I have no idea how their versioning or their formats work. I also don't know what kind of public-facing tools are provided or supported. I also don't know what their pricing structure looks like. I just know it's not the $50/month paid plan, and it's not the free tier.
I have no idea if it's better than most existing tools out there. I just know I'm getting their service for free.
Re: Free Samples??
Free for limited use. But you'll have to pay to go unlimited.
I like it.
I've signed up with similar services before, and while they've got some good ideas, none of them quite work as well as I'd like, nor do they support the types of tools I'm most comfortable using, nor do they support uploading to youtube. If YouTube made a tool that would let you set up a series of videos from your own clips, and then upload them to youtube with some really easy to use interface, I'd jump on it, but they don't seem to.
Sampler has a great interface and great feature sets, and the fact that it's all free makes it very appealing.
These guys seem to have very high hopes for this. I really like the UX of their site and the fact that it's free but with limitations.
However, I'm afraid that they're going to be a no-show due to the industry. They're targeting the newbies who are making their first few attempts to get a track out. Sure, there's lots of people out there that have spent $10k's on their own studio but that's pretty rare. They're probably going to see this is a total failure.
Well this is based on the amount of features they offer. If you look at their site their plan doesn't provide the kind of control over your clips that you get with sampler pro.
They have a simple to use interface, but it lacks the advanced features that you get with some other services like coolr
